On Sunday, Rukararwe once again welcomed a group of students from Kampala International University (KIU) for an educational tour focused on herbal medicine and environmental conservation.

The students were guided by Ephraim, who led them through different sections of the Rukararwe site and introduced them to a wide range of medicinal plants found within the gardens and nursery areas. During the tour, students learned about the traditional uses of various herbs, how they are cultivated, and the important role they continue to play in community healthcare.

As the group moved through the different areas, Ephraim explained how medicinal plants are identified, harvested, and processed into herbal remedies used at the Rukararwe clinic. The students had the opportunity to ask questions and gain practical insight into the connection between natural medicine, sustainability, and local knowledge.

The visit also highlighted the importance of conserving indigenous plant species and promoting environmentally responsible practices for future generations. Experiences like these help bridge academic learning with hands-on community experience and encourage students to appreciate the value of traditional medicine alongside modern healthcare approaches.

Rukararwe is always pleased to host students and visitors who are interested in learning more about herbal medicine, conservation, and community-based healthcare initiatives.
