On May 23rd, Rukararwe had the pleasure of hosting a group of university students from Kampala International University (KIU) for a field trip focused on herbal medicine. Organized as part of their academic course, the visit offered the students a hands-on opportunity to deepen their understanding of traditional healing practices.

The tour began with an introduction to our herbal medicine department, where the students learned about the preparation and uses of different medicinal plants. They also visited our tree nursery, where many of the healing plants are grown, and explored the Rukararwe clinic, where herbal remedies are used in practice.

After the educational part of the day, the group stayed longer to enjoy the calm and natural atmosphere of Rukararwe. Surrounded by trees and birdsong, it was a perfect moment to relax, reflect, and connect with nature.

We’re always happy to welcome students and visitors who are eager to learn and experience the value of nature-based health care. We thank the KIU students for their interest and enthusiasm and look forward to more exchanges like this in the future.
